The Annual Pinewood Derby!

So last year at this time, Nate was in the hospital and Popi had to help Tyler finish his pinewood derby car. This year Nathan was happy to help Tyler make a new one which hopefully wouldn't come in dead last. They spent a week or two working on this car, every evening after Nate got home from work and weekends too. Tyler designed the car himself, from the shape of it to the paint job. We spent some decent cash on the thing too. When we got to the derby, the boys were practice racing their cars. Tyler's car was doing okay--middle of the pack anyway. Then when his turn to race came, he came in last every time AGAIN. So apparently we are good at designing very slow cars and hopefully we'll learn some fast car tricks before next spring. I'm thinking, "how many more of these cars do we have to make?" And I'm glad that we only have one cub scout in the family! We sure are proud of Tyler though, he did a great job and his car looked fantastic!
