4th of July in Utah!

What a wonderful trip to Utah we just took! The weather was so perfect (anything that is an escape from this nasty humidity is perfect for us) and it was so good to see all of Nathan's family. We had fun hiking together, going bowling at BYU, boating on Utah lake, having campfires in the backyard and up in the canyon, and just catching up on each others' lives. We were so excited to see the Jonas Brothers at Stadium of Fire on the 4th of July. The kids, and I think the adults too, all enjoyed the concert and the fireworks. Those cute boys even played good ol' "Sweet Caroline" for the parents. (I'm not really THAT old, just listened to a lot of Neil Diamond growing up) Our kids have cried themselves to sleep for several nights saying "why do we have to come home to boring old Arkansas" and "why don't we live closer to our family." Well don't we all wish life was just a fun filled vacation without any work, worries or trouble, and that things always went our way?!!! Okay, so I'm not entirely without sympathy, but I do get tired of all the tears and accusations every time we return home from either Grandparents' house. While in Utah we were able to take the children into the new Oquirh Mountain Temple. What a neat experience to be inside a holy temple with my children! I teared up as I watched them look into the mirrors and talk about what it means to be a forever family. We are so blessed by these temples!

It's not all bad returning to Arkansas. It isn't NEARLY as crowded and there is no traffic at all compared to other places. I just wish we had Cafe Rio......
