Audrey's Baptism on Easter Weekend

On Friday night, we baptized our lovely Audrey. We had a joint baptism with a wonderful family from our new ward. It was wonderful to have Nathan's parents fly out to Cincinnati to be here. I also felt blessed to have my parents and my two sisters and their families attend. Audrey was so excited for her baptism and loved her beautiful dress, made by my mom. While changing into dry clothes immediately after being baptized, she said, "Mom, I feel so special." We talked about what that means and I found myself tearing up. It seems so recent that she was my sweet little baby with the dimples and big smile. I started thinking how quickly the years will go by between now and the time I help her into her next white dress on her wedding day! So we have two baptisms down, and two more to go!

We had a quiet Easter at home watching conference with Nathan's parents. I am so grateful to be able to listen to such inspired speakers. I was so touched by so many of the talks. I especially enjoyed the counsel given to mothers and daughters by Elder Ballard, I think. Now that I am only 2 months away from having THREE daughters, I feel I need all the help I can get! It is such a blessing to have such specific guidance given to us as mothers as we do our best to prepare the next generation for the years ahead. I just hope I can be the kind of mother the Lord needs me to be to these four wonderful spirits He has/is sending me.
