One Long Summer and Back to School

This summer has been especially long since our school district was trying to have extra time for the completion of two new elementary schools. We ended in May and didn't start back until September 7th. It was a very busy summer with a new baby and adjusting from three children to four. We spent most days at home or at the pool near our house. It was hard in some ways and wonderful in others. Yesterday was Tyler and Audrey's first day back at school and today was Samantha's first day of kindergarten. Just like anything else, there were some smiles and some tears, but we made it. I had a quiet house with just baby Lila for the first time in three months. I enjoyed the quiet but I also thought/worried about my kids while they were away. It is still quite hot outside and the school has no air conditioning. I felt guilty that I was able to stay cool while my children sweat in their classrooms. We are all hoping for cooler fall temperatures very soon. Here are some photos of the kids on their first day back to school.

Thanks Mom for the cute dress! Sammie loved it so much she wanted to wear it on her first day of school. Aunt Claire-- thanks for the adorable little hair clips and purse from Anna for Sammie's bday. She also wore the pink clip on her first day. So adorable!

P.S. Baby Lila was also blessed this weekend....pictures to come soon.
