There is a Christmas tree farm within a half hour of our house where you can pick any tree you want for $38.00. We decided to make this our new tradition and try it out. So we drove out there on a sunny Saturday after Thanksgiving. I don't know if it is a "man" thing or if it is just Nathan, but we had to walk and walk and walk, making absolutely sure we had seen all the trees and had found just the right one. I wouldn't have thought this was a big deal, except I had Lila in the back pack and I got pretty worn out. We ended up finding a tree that was "just right". The challenge then was to cut it down, lay it on a tarp, and haul it up this big hill to the place where they bale them. We had to stop and rest a few times and there were some emotional outbursts, but we did it. I think it will be really cool to watch the kids get bigger and better at hauling a tree year after year. We are excited to make this our new Christmas tradition!

I'm jealous! I want a live tree too! I miss you, Alissa...wish we were still close enough to hang out after Joyschool for a good chat.
