How did this happen? Our oldest, Tyler, turned 12 on Jan 7th. It seems like he just turned 8 and was baptized! He is such a great kid. He is responsible, trustworthy, intelligent, handsome, polite and so fun to talk to. He makes pleasant conversation with any adult, almost better than kids his age, and makes us laugh. We celebrated his birthday in Utah, letting him pick out his gifts at the BYU bookstore. We had a cake with all our Utah family at Grandma's house, which was something we've never been able to do before. Tyler also had 2 of his friends over and went laser tagging with them here in Cincinnati. Then we planned to celebrate again with our Ohio family on the day he was ordained to the priesthood. We made it through the ordination, which was a beautiful blessing, thanks to Nathan. Both Nathan and I were sick that day so we didn't have everyone over for the dinner we'd planned. Thankfully though, everyone came by for a piece of cake and to congratulate Tyler. It is amazing to see a boy so young given the responsibility of holding the priesthood of God. I know it will help him grow and serve others in many ways. I am excited for him to leave primary and join the Young Men's organization. Scout camp...now that's a different story. I am most apprehensive about letting him go off to another state with a big group of boys, trusting he'll be ok and come home all in one piece. This Sunday Tyler will pass the sacrament for the first time....let's just take this new stage one step at a time.
Congratulations Tyler! We love you.
