Funny things...

The other night I was putting Samantha to bed. This is no easy task mind you, and it must be done with large doses of patience. I was laying next to her scratching her back and she turned over to snuggle up to me. As she did so, she said "oh I love my snuggly mommy, you are just so squishy." Now normally I would take offense to this, thinking to myself how I need to work out more, since "squishy" is a negative thing to be, right? Well I have been thinking about it and I actually think that "squishy" is a wonderful thing to be. Everyone needs their soft place to fall, their comfort zone so to speak. Samantha is a delightful child who keeps us on our toes and always going. She is very intense. She doesn't often show me affection or say nice things to me at all really. So for her, she was telling me how much she loves and needs me. And I am finally learning as a mother to hear what she is telling me.
